Sale time as motorhome dealers move end-of-season stock

567ed20f-732b-46be-a090-1190bf16218a

Motorhome dealers across the country are selling off unregistered 2017 motorhomes and campervans at heavily discounted prices to clear their forecourts for 2018 stock

For canny purchasers who know exactly what they want, this could be the perfect time to pick up a genuine bargain.

The biggest savings we found was a whopping £9,674 on a Swift Bolero 714 SB – a soon-to-be-discontinued model – at Spinney Motorhomes.

Nearly all of the motorhomes on sale are one-offs, so buyers will need to act fast to secure a deal. Look out for specification details, too, as these may vary from model to model.

Some of the models on sale will be unused, zero-mileage models while others will be demonstrators. However, while there are more bargains than normal at this time of year, some dealers – especially the larger ones – manage their sales in a different way to offer sales throughout the year.

Marquis for example has a policy of having an ever-changing fleet of registered vehicles as demonstrators throughout the season. “It equates to some 6.4 (registered demonstrators) per branch. As a company we don’t only do this at the end of the season, but throughout the year as we discount models that have either been to shows, used by celebrities as per the Channel 5 programme, loaned to journalist for features, used by the branches as demonstration models or just (and most least) duplicate stock,” explained Marquis Leisure’s Marketing Director, Andy Brand, explains. “It is a very good way for a customer to achieve a cost saving but in the knowledge that they have been carefully looking after. As we see it there are not any disadvantages in purchasing a demo.”

If you’re on the hunt for a 2017 bargain go here where there are over 5,000 new and used motorhomes and campervans for sale.
