This council-run campsite is extremely popular so advance booking is advised/essential in summer. Situated at the harbour end of Southwold, with the beach two minutes away, it has a great location. The staff are very friendly and approachable. There is no electric hook-up in the camping fields. The toilet facilities aren’t new by any means but are clean and the water is plentiful and hot, though with 132 pitches, you may have to wait. It’s a pleasant half hour walk into Southwold town with is shops, pubs and restaurants galore. Tired legs will welcome the frequent bus service to the campsite.
