Hillside Caravan Park

Located on a farm, this purpose-built campsite is immaculately clean, modern and has none of the old-fashioned décor you sometimes come across when touring. Although the amount of facilities this campsite has is modest (a heated toilet and shower block, launderette, disabled facilities), this goes in the park's favour. There's no evening entertainment and no on-site bar so it is therefore ideal for couples and families looking for a quiet escape. Facilities do include the aforementioned plus Wi-Fi (available for a small charge), hairdryers and a vegetable preparation area.

And, as the campsite is located on a farm, it is quiet and peaceful with wonderful views over the North Yorkshire countryside.

It might be quiet but this is not a campsite you will get bored at. The kids will love the three acres of open grass to run around on, while the adventure play area is bound to keep them occupied for an hour or two. You are surrounded by beautiful countryside, ideal for walking dogs, varied walks are available ideal for all abilities and ages. There is a public footpath running through the farmstead leading on to a network of public paths and bridleways on to the North Yorkshire Moors and the Cleveland Way. And, when you fancy a change of scenery, there's lots to do off-site, including a visit to Flamingo Land where there are rides and a safari park.

If you like animals, there's also the Herriot Museum (named after the vet and author James Herriot) where children and adults alike can learn about veterinary science, while taking a journey back to the age of 'All Creatures Great and Small' in this restored 1940s house.

The North York Moors National Park is just to the east of the campsite, which is ideal walking territory for all abilities.
