Just a short distance off the A1, adjacent to the A66, this grassy, gently sloping 66-pitch campsite has magnificent views southwards over the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It's a waste to use this merely as a stopover, so why not stay for a few days and enjoy what the area has to offer? It's Herriot country, and you can find many of the locations used in the famous series. It's also where the great landscape artist, J M W Turner painted some of his most famous watercolours. The local Tourist Association publishes a Turner Trail leaflet and has placed seats at many of the places he painted.
