Situated in the lovely Lincolnshire village of Deeping St James, this 11-pitch adults only campsite is a joy to stay at. Spread over three quarters of an acre, on a flat, well-kept paddock, this is the ideal location for tourers looking to get away from it all. The paddock is surrounded by trees on three sides, with views out to the Lincolnshire countryside stretching for miles on the one side. There are hardstandings and all pitches are numbered and allocated a huge plot. Your own sanitation is required but all pitches are fully serviced and include free WiFi to every pitch.

This lovely, 11 pitch adult-only campsite could provide the ideal getaway for a couple looking for some peace and quiet.

The friendly and immensely helpful owners, Keith and Alison Rogers (who live on the campsite in their bungalow), will ensure you have a wonderful time from the moment you arrive until the second you leave and offer a wealth of knowledge about the surrounding area.

There are two parts to this campsite. The touring site has eleven pitches and there is also a Caravan Club CL - which took third place in the CL of the Year Award 2011. All pitches on the CL are hardstanding, with nine of the pitches on the touring site being hardstanding too. All pitches on both sites are fully serviced with free WiFi connection available on each pitch. You will need to provide your own sanitation, but when you're in such a beautiful location, a toilet block is the last of your worries.

There is a lovely countryside dog walk starting from the campsite - walk a little further and you'll even come across the Welland river. If you need some more information about the area, there is an on-site information centre with leaflets etc. The sites are situated on the borders of Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire on the edge of flat to gently rolling countryside, ideal for walking and cycling.

The village of Market Deeping and Deeping St James have a Cotswold feel along with all the villages along and to the west of the A15. Market Deeping and Deeping St James also have a leisure centre with indoor pool which is within walking distance of the sites. They also offer an array of pubs, eateries and shops to explore. There are even a few hairdressers and beauty parlours so you can treat yourself while on holiday.

Adjacent to the campsite is a secure caravan-storage area, rated Platinum by CaOSSA. It is one of the top 20 Gold CaSSOA sites in the country, immaculately tidy, offering wide pitches, wash service and servicing and repairs carried out by a workshop approved service engineer within the compound. This is favoured by many regulars who stay at the campsite - the owners will even place your 'van on your pitch ready for your arrival. In fact, the whole campsite is secure with barriers across the entrance.

Despite Lincolnshire's countryside being very flat, this tree-lined campsite makes you feel very safe and enclosed - a haven for birds and wildlife. When we visited, there was even a sighting of a Muntjac deer in the camping field. However, if you look past the trees, the uninterrupted views stretch for miles and miles - you truly feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere here.

The city of Peterborough is just a 25-minute drive away and is the perfect place to lighten the wallet. With a large shopping centre, fashion boutiques, restaurants and cafés, you'll be spoilt for choice. Or, if you fancy something a little more historic, why not visit the town of Stamford, a beautifully preserved old-English town with shops, cafés churches and recreational grounds.

For directions to the campsite please do not use your Sat Nav as there is a highway restriction on the way to approach the sites. Guests are asked to use the directions on Keal Lodge's website.

For those who are members of the Caravan Club and wish to stay at Keal Lodge's five-pitch CL, click here for more information.
