Hawthorn Farm’s 28 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens contains some 5000 established ornamental fruit and woodland trees. The port of Dover is a six minute drive away. Martin Mill station is nearby and within easy reach of Blue Flag beaches and the historic castles of Dover, Deal and Walmer. Fine golf courses, fishing, swimming, tennis and bowls are just some of the local activities available. A local public house serves excellent value food. All the normal campsite facilities are available, including a shop and café.

Hawthorn Farm is situated at Martin Mill, two miles from the beautiful St Margaret's Bay near Dover. It is well signposted, lying to the north of the main A258 road, midway between Dover and Deal.

The site is ideally positioned to explore the delights of Kent and to view it as merely a stopover-site for the ferries from Dover is to do it a disservice. Within an hour's drive of the park are several seaside resorts including Herne Bay which features many historic buildings and is home to what is thought to be the world's first purpose-built freestanding clock tower - this dates back to 1837.

The site is on the same road as the station (which is on the Kent Coast line), making it an ideal base for those who prefer not to have to drive once they've pitched on site. The station allows easy access to both Deal and Dover. At Dover the track links up with a mainline service to London.

Deal is an attractive Georgian seaside town that offers a beach - voted by Telegraph readers as the 'top spot to lay a beach towel' - together with an elegant pier (named 'Pier of the year in 2008'). Offering a wide range of shops, restaurants, pubs, cafés and sandwich bars, as well as weekly markets and museums, it's a great place to visit. Deal also features an impressive Tudor castle that's open from the beginning of April to the end of September.

The train also stops at Walmer en route to Deal, where you'll find Grade 2 listed Walmer Castle, which is under the stewardship of English Heritage and features impressive Italian-style formal gardens. Built during the reign of Henry VIII, it's open from March to the end of October.

Just spent a couple of nights here, as our usual campsite was full and what a lovely find! 27/05/2019

We camped in the bottom field and had a lovely time. Although the toilets and showers were a little further to get to, our field was spacious and surrounded by huge trees to keep the wind off. The...

Our first trip to Hawthorn Farm and it certainly won’t be our last. We have been looking for a local ‘go-to’ site for a while and we have finally found it! The site is very accessible from a main...
