Woodland Springs Touring Park

Exclusive to adults, Woodland Springs Touring Park is located in the Dartmoor National Park and is easy to get to thanks to its location just 1.5 miles from the A30.

Its position in mid Devon, in the North East corner of the Dartmoor National Park makes it ideal for walkers looking to discover the beautiful moors as well as making it an ideal base for exploring much of the South West. The campsite caters for tents, caravans and motorhomes.

Woodland Springs has 81 pitches which are offered in three grades – 12' 'basic' pitches without electric (tents only), 59 ‘standard’ pitches with electric hook-up and 10 'fully serviced' pitches. Both grassed pitches and hardstanding are available in the four-acre site, which has a rural feel to it and is bordered with mature trees. Special offers are available all year round for longer stays.

Woodland and fields surround the campsite and it is a haven for wildlife, with deer, foxes, rabbits (amongst others) and over 45 different species of birds being also seen on the campsite at one time or another.

The toilet block  is of a high standard, it has won many Loo Of The Year awards. It has disabled facilities, privacy rooms as well as the usual toilet and shower cubicles. The showers, hairdryers and shaver points are all free as is the iron in the laundry. The laundry also has token operated washing machines and tumble dryers. There is no need to wash dishes outside as it also houses and indoor dishwashing area. The whole building is heated in the colder months.

The on-site shop and off licence offers local produce as well as the camping basics, fresh bread is also baked daily (but not in the winter).

There’s a pub about a mile from the campsite, the Post Inn, which offers good food, while nearby Chagford offers a range of traditional shops, restaurants and pubs. Okehampton is also close by and has many shops including butchers, bakers and several supermarkets.

It’s also worth noting that Tor Down Storage who are next to the site offer undercover caravan storage at a very reasonable cost. For a small charge Woodland Springs will then site the caravan in time for your visit, saving you the hassle of having to tow the vehicle down for each visit.
