It’s unusual to find a campsite at a service station, but it's even more unusual to find one that is well positioned, shielded from traffic noise and a joy to stay at. Westmorland Caravan Park in Cumbria has all these attributes with pitches for motorhomes and caravans. It's set next to the award-winning Tebay Services just after junction 38 going north on the M6. Once on the campsite (which won a David Bellamy Conservation Award in 2007) you find yourself among trees and raised grass areas that provide screening from both noise and people. The campsite has a full time warden and is well-kept.
