A hidden gem owned and operated by the popular Scotgate Caravan and Camping Site at Braithwaite. Braithwaite Bridges is hidden amongst trees under the slopes of the Lakeland three thousand foot mountain Skiddaw. It offers basic flat grassed pitches for tents only and benefits from a modern toilet and shower block. It's tricky to find and not signposted so you need to get directions for Scotgate before you go. Scotgate itself is a ten-minute walk and has a cafe that opens in peak season.
