This immaculate campsite is situated in a tranquil valley surrounded by open countryside but just a few yards from the glorious golden sand and surf of Porth Beach. The modern amenity block is one of the best we have seen, and echoes the standard of the whole campsite.
There is a small meandering stream on one side of the campsite, ideal for spotting wildlife or just sitting in this tranquil setting to watch the water flow by. The beach is in a beautiful bay with a sandy shoreline, rock pools and surf – perfect for family days building the biggest and best sandcastles, swimming, hunting for sea life or just relaxing.
It is reputed to be one of the safest beaches in the area. You are within easy reach of all the amenities that Cornwall has to offer, with its many theme parks, coastal paths for walking, cycle trails or places of historic interest.
On a wet day the children will want to visit Dairyland Farm World, where they can handle the pets, bottle feed them and watch them being fed. There are slides, climbing nets and many other indoor and outdoor attractions for them to enjoy.
The Lappa Valley Railway, features three linked railways of different types and sizes, and operates around the valley. Add to that a boating lake, crazy golf, historic mine buildings and the Trevithick path maze and you have a full day’s adventure.
The fabulous Oasis indoor pool at Hendra in Newquay has water flumes, water cannons, rapid river ride and a toddlers' area, while for culture vultures, the Lane Theatre offers a wide variety of plays, comedy and musicals to keep you entertained during the evenings.
