Offering 450 grass pitches, some hardstanding and serviced, Lady’s Mile is a family-orientated campsite in Dawlish, just a short distance from the M5 junction 30. It offers indoor and outdoor pools with large water flumes, a licensed mini-market, takeaway, restaurant and bar. The site also has a sauna, steam room, gym, hot tub and tanning, a hair and beauty salon, plus a large games room and an impressive outdoor play area. The pitches feature electric hook-up via top-up cards. All are serviced by brick-built shower blocks. Also on the campsite are two laundries and a dog walk area.

Located near the attractive town of Dawlish (which is well worth closer inspection), Lady’s Mile Holiday Park features over 450 pitches and offers extensive delights.

The most obvious of these is the huge outdoor pool area which features a 63-metre long spiral water flume that kids (and big kids) will absolutely love. This feeds into a large main swimming pool, with a shallower toddlers pool nearby and a splash zone area featuring squirting water and tipping buckets of water. There is plenty of sun lounger space around the pool.

Just outside the pool area is a courtyard with plenty of tables and chairs, together with a takeaway restaurant. This offers a range of food including fish and chips, pizza, and kebabs. The bar and restaurant has been refurbished, offering meals in the evening and carverys on Sunday.

The indoor pool is impressively large and boasts a spiral water flume. Next to this is a games room with a variety of blasting and driving games, as well as the ever-popular penny falls. Recent investment has seen the opening of a new indoor soft play area, and a new sauna and gym.

As well as extensive indoor activities, there’s also a large outdoor play area for children that features the impressive 8-metre tall Everest Tower. Don’t worry, it’s fully enclosed and has various metal-tube slides sprouting out of it. With lots of space in which to run about on site, it’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into making this site as child-friendly as possible.

Also on the campsite is a well-equipped licensed mini-market, offering a wide range of groceries as well as lots of toys, gifts and outdoor kit. Usefully, this is open seven days a week.

Most of the 450 pitches are on level firm grass, all offering electric hook-up, charged via a top up card system. Some pitches are on terraced areas giving a good view of the site and each plot is of a good size.

Various brick-built toilet blocks service the pitches and are all modern and well laid out. There are plenty of loos and showers and some even offer a bath. Also on the campsite is a large laundry area (we counted 12 washing machines and 10 large tumble driers) so there’s no excuse for not looking smart at the bar in the evening!

Just a twenty minute stroll from the campsite is the Blue Flag beach at Dawlish Warren, while Dawlish itself is a pretty little town to visit. Nearby Brixham is a quaint harbour village, while Dartmouth is slightly further afield and an excellent place to visit (but best to take the bus as parking is limited).
