Situated in the historic location of Cosawes (the watercourse of the wood) this campsite’s former occupancies include the first gunpowder mill in Cornwall. Nowadays, much of the 100-acre park is devoted to permanent park homes, while the six acres given over to touring customers have 50 pitches. Plenty of fresh water points are provided and full recycling facilities.
The terraced campsite's next level has grass pitches around its central oak tree, close to 30 high quality service pitches. These not only boast hardstandings and 16 amp electric hook-ups, but also water fill and grey water points, and even a digital TV hook-up.
The award-winning toilet block is among the premium hardstanding pitches beside a stream which provides free ground source energy to heat the block and abundant hot water. The facilities include heated showers, WCs and basins, and an integral laundry room has coin-operated washing machines and tumble driers. Outside stands a WC chemical disposal point and washing up sinks.
In an undeniably pretty setting, Cosawes Touring and Camping Park is well served locally. In nearby Ponsanooth, a corner shop incorporates a post office and news agency; a similar outlet is to be found in Perranwell. Three miles out on the A39 Truro-Falmouth road is an Asda supermarket, while Truro has branches of both Tesco and Sainsbury. Also on the A39, there is a bus stop and, a mile away, you’ll find the Norway Inn, an attractive hostelry with an impressive menu.
Cosawes Touring and Camping Park is a cut above some of its rivals. It's also worth noting that seasonal pitches are available, as well as storage facilities. Cosawes has held a David Bellamy Gold award for conservation since 2012. The facilities here won best in category for the 2012 Loo of the Year Award and gold or platinum awards ever since.
