Trewan Hall sits around an old Cornish manor that has 36 acres of woodland and gardens. It has been owned and managed by the Hill Family for over 50 years. The North Cornwall coast is only four miles away where there are sandy beaches and cliff walks. St Columb town is a short walking distance away with shops and pubs. There is a camp shop on site, information on the locality and plenty of places to explore. Facilities have been modernised and visitors can choose their own place on the two fields with or without electricity. There's also a 25m heated swimming pool.

Set in the grounds of the Trewan Hall estate - which boasts 36-acres of woodland that campers are free to roam - this campsite offers 200 pitches, with electric hook-ups available. These extensive grounds have been sympathetically maintained and the site holds a David Bellamy Gold Award for its conservation credentials.

Four acres of the woodland has been set aside as a dog-walking area and the campsite is also ideal for families thanks to one field being set aside for ball games and a woodland playground. The children are also sure to love the 25-metre heated outdoor pool, which has a wide patio surround that's perfect for soaking up the sun. The pool is open in July, August and Spring bank holiday and there's a modest fee for its use. In bad weather an air dome can be erected over the pool.

The old hall on the campsite also has a library that guests can use, together with a writing room (how posh is that?!). Best of all, there's even a full-sized billiard table for you to enjoy.

There's an on-site shop that sells everything from fresh bread to pasties and snacks. You can also purchase charcoal here (which is made on site) if you fancy barbecuing something back at your 'van.

During the peak season there's plenty to keep guests entertained, including a slot car race track in the Round House, while the Long Barn hosts evening entertainment. This includes a rock band, brass band, a magic show and story teller performances - all at no extra charge. Table tennis tables are available and the teenagers have their own room with a pool table.

Off site, St Columb Major is just a short stroll away and offers a choice of good pubs and places to eat out. A short drive away (13 miles) is the Eden Project which is a must-see tourist attraction that makes a great day out for all ages.
