The Trading Post is a small twenty-one pitch campsite behind a filling station and mini-market on the main R741 near Ballaghkeen. This makes it ideal as a stop-over, but because of its close proximity to the road, noise can be expected during the day, which is a pity because this is a nice well-kept compact site. Most pitches are on gravel hardstandings (some of which are seasonal) and are sheltered a little from the road by hedging, while the rear of the site is sheltered by tall trees. Situated close to Rosslare port and a short drive to long stretches of golden sands.
Children have a small play area with a swing and playhouse, while a giant chess or draughts board is near the rear perimeter with a handily placed swing chair allowing you to sit and ponder your next move! The entire campsite is perfectly flat and while we were there, the area was a mass of buttercups.
Gas and all your grocery requirements can be found on the forecourt shop along with newspapers and gas refills (Irish only). The clean modern amenity block has toilets, washbasins and free showers, laundry and disabled facilities along with a communal room that's aimed primarily at tenters. At the side of the block is a chemical toilet empty point in its own room, while fresh water can be found on the outside of the block. Because of its wide access from the road and forecourt entrance the site could cater for the largest motorhome or RV.
