Well-behaved dogs are welcome and there are excellent walks around the park.
Stroud Hill Park provides excellent facilities confirmed by the AA Pennant rating Gold Star Award 2019/2020 - one of the many industry accolades awarded in recognition of the high standard on-site facilities on this premier site. There is a resident warden from Easter to September and facilities include individual wet rooms with underfloor heating, laundry facilities and an indoor wash up area.
The site is set in quiet, attractive, landscaped rural grounds in central Cambridgeshire. On site is a green oak framed building housing a restaurant, bar area and reception, with excellent toilets and showers. Facilities are purpose-built to be accessible to all.
Stroud Hill Park is a perfect base from which you can relax, enjoy and discover. There is a private, well stocked, 3 acre fishing lake with a tennis court and rackets for hire. Its location, in central Cambridgeshire, makes it a great base to discover the area. The Old Riverport St Ives is an historic town just under 5 miles away and 15 miles from Cambridge. The town is on the Great River Ouse which offers river trips. Markets are held on Mondays, Fridays and Bank Holidays with the award winning Farmers’ Market held on the first the third Saturday of each month. St Ives has many restaurants, cafes, a lively nightlife and an annual Jazz and Blues Festival.
The area is surrounded by National Trust properties worthy of a visit from Wimpole Hall or Anglesey Abbey to Houghton Mill – with beautiful walks and pubs en-route. Houghton Mill is under 10 miles from the Park and one of the oldest mills on the River Great Ouse. Duxford Air Museum is only a short drive away. Cambridgeshire is also a great county for cycling with its relatively flat landscape. With vast history and heritage, Ely Cathedral is well worth a visit with many shops and unique restaurants around the local area; it’s a great way to spend the day out.
The guided busway is an easy way to visit and discover Cambridge. With parking in St Ives, it is very convenient to reach from the Park. The short journey takes you through small villages and nature reserves into the beautiful city of Cambridge – a City without a Cathedral – which is hard to beat when it comes to a beautiful place and remarkable architecture. A great place to take in the sights from the Backs of the Colleges in a leisurely punt ride to the other many attractions from the Botanical Gardens to museums and beautiful colleges.
Peckover House and Garden is a secret gem and a perfect location for a stroll with two acres of sensory delight. Complete with orangery, croquet lawn and rose garden with more than 60 species of rose.
The park is open 365 days per year. Other benefits include early arrival - any time after 9.00am - and no late stay fees. Wifi is available on site.
