The benefits of caravan storage and seasonal sites
Storage
Caravans are big items to store at home, so many of us have no option but to put them into storage. Even where there’s space at home, there are several reasons for considering a secure storage site.
A high percentage of caravan thefts take place from home, not only that, but it saves on neighbour caravan arguments if it’s off the drive, too.
CaSSOA is the Caravan Storage Site Owners’ Association, an organisation that oversees some 500 secure storage sites across the UK.
Each site is independently assessed for security features, access and amenities, to make sure that they offer high levels of protection from theft. A bronze, silver or gold standard is then given, according to the level of protection and service provided.
Seasonal
Once in a while, you stay on a campsite that’s so perfect for you and your family that you think, ‘I could happily stay here all year’. Well, with a caravan, you can!
Many campsites have a number of spaces allocated for seasonal pitching – where a tourer can be left in the same spot all summer or all year – allowing the owners to visit any time they want, without the hassle of towing through Friday evening traffic or having to vacate the pitch mid-morning on Sunday. A quick weekend getaway? Perfect. Half-term hols with the family? Spot on. An extended break in the summer? Yes, you can do that, too.
And all at a price far below a nightly rate.
