Lady's Mile Holiday Park, Devon

c11919ab-cbc2-43a4-9420-aaa977e6ce37

What could be better after an action-packed day of holiday fun, than relaxing in your own hot tub with a glass of fizz? Or if there’s a chill in the air, how about curling up on the sofa and sipping hot chocolate in front of a cosy wood burner? Then settling down for the night in a four-poster bed? We must be talking about a luxury hotel, right? Wrong. This is camping with style.

We firmly believe when it comes to enjoying the great outdoors, there’s nothing wrong with a touch of luxury and convenience and Lady’s Mile Holiday Park in south Devon offers plenty of both. The park’s safari tents provide accommodation under canvas with all the comforts of home – and more!

Safari tent bookings can be made from May to the first weekend of October. The two-bed version comes with a king-size four poster bed and a twin room, and the three-bedroom tent has two king-size beds (one four poster and the other a cabin-style design) and a separate twin room. The lounge has a sofa and a dining table as well as a log burner and the kitchen comes equipped with a hob and small microwave plus a kettle and toaster. Each tent comes with a shower, toilet and hand basin built-in so there’s no need for late-night trips across the campsite to the loo.

In addition to the luxury accomodation, Lady’s Mile has superb facilities that will keep the whole family occupied. It’s a location that will appeal both to families looking for a beach holiday and people seeking nature interest. It’s less than a mile from the beaches of Dawlish Warren, close to the 500-acre Dawlish Warren National Nature Reserve and just a half-hour drive from Paignton Zoo.

The beach is a mile-and-a-half long, backed by sand dunes, and close to the sands you can find shops, amusements, go-karts and adventure golf. This is a great site for water-loving families. With indoor and outdoor pools with flumes and plunge pools, two paddling pools, a splash zone and a hot tub, you can have endless water-based fun.

In addition, on site there’s a bowling alley, indoor play facilities and an adventure play area with an eight-metre tower and slides. Lady’s Mile also has a gym and sauna, a restaurant and a takeaway food service. In fact, everything you could need for the perfect family holiday.

EATING OUT
The Oceans Restaurant on site offers lots of eating options, from breakfast all the way through to dinner. Wednesday and Saturday are curry nights and there’s a delicious carvery on offer on Sundays – and the home-made gravy is a treat! If you want a night in but don’t fancy cooking, the park’s fish and chip shop offers tasty takeaways.

Dawlish has loads of places to eat throughout the day, from cafés and bistros to fine dining restaurants. Among the favourites are Home Kitchen, the Smugglers Inn and Refelections Bistro.

A little further away, but an amazing experience, is the River Exe Café, a unique restaurant on a custom-built barge that floats offshore in the Exe Estuary. To reach it you need to catch a water taxi or take your own boat, but it’s well worth the effort. The locally sourced food is delicious and the views are fantastic.
