Is this the easiest way to enjoy a camping trip?

It goes without saying that we love camping, but sometimes the thought of getting all the gear out of storage, packing the car and then unpacking at the other end is just too much.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could just rock up at a great campsite, pick up all your gear and get set up? No car boot Tetris and no need to clean muddy and wet kit when you get home!

Well now you can do just that. Lee Valley Camping has teamed up with Tempo Market, an equipment hire business, who will provide camping packages for a hassle-free camping holiday.

It’s also a great idea for first-time campers who want to test the water before splashing the cash on expensive gear or for regulars who are being joined on holiday by friends or family who don’t have their own kit.

There are three main packages on offer: tent hire (silver), camping essentials (gold) and the full camping package (platinum).

The silver package costs £40 for two and up to £80 for eight campers. Gold (a tent, a sleeping bag and pillow for each person, a double mattress, and chairs) ranges from £65 to £165 and Platinum (tent, sleeping bag and pillow for each person, mattress, chairs, portable gas stove, cooking kit, lantern, kettle and cups) costs between £79 and £179 depending on the number of campers.

Each package's price includes the pitch fee on one of the Lee Valley campsites at Dobbs Weir, Edmonton or Sewardstone close to London.

The packages can be tailored to suit your needs by adding on other equipment if required. The camping equipment is delivered to the campsite and your tent pitched, and all you need to do is turn up, register and set up.

“This service is a great cost-effective way to enjoy the experience of camping without having to invest in camping equipment,” said James Hetherington, Accommodation and Golf Manager at Lee Valley.

“It is an ideal way to try out camping or share a camping experience with friends or relations.”
