Introduction - Editor's picks for Yorkshire campsites

The largest county in England, Yorkshire is known for its history and heritage, as well as its castles, medieval abbeys, vibrant cities and two national parks.

Foodies should head for Yorkshire, with treats ranging from fresh catch of the day at Whitby to traditional roasts with a certain savoury pudding, and the Bettys empire with delectable afternoon teas.

Then head to the rugged moors and picturesque dales, to burn off all that scrumptious food with a range of walks, climbs and underground descents.
