KEY FEATURES
PITCHING
Unlike most family tents, this is freestanding and pitched inner first, so avoid putting it up in heavy rain. Despite the unusual structure, it’s fairly easy to erect with a little practice, helped by the colour-coded poles.
LIVING/SLEEPING
The tent has small enclosed porch areas at the front and back which offer decent storage space. There are identical doors at both ends, which give access to the single living/sleeping area. Inside, there’s enough space for a double airbed and a couple of chairs or four singles. The tent has a good number of storage pockets, a cable entry point and a lantern hanging hook.
OUR VIEW
This is the smaller version of the previously-reviewed Tranquility 6 and has much of the same features, with less space. Design, materials and workmanship are exceptionally high quality, and although space is limited, it’s perfectly comfortable for two. It would cope with four, but you’d need to forget about any kind of furniture. It’s also very easy to stuff away in its own backpack when packing up.
