KEY FEATURES
WHO’S IT FOR?
The vis a vis design means this is ideal for family campers or groups of friends
WHAT’S IT LIKE?
The Karuna 6 was the winner of the Best Value tent in the Camping magazine awards earlier this year, and some heavy discounting since then has made it even better value. It’s stating the obvious, but value for money is not all about paying as little as you can. The key is getting as much as possible for your money and that is what makes Regatta’s Karuna 6 such a good buy. This is a great entry level pole tent aimed at newcomers to family camping but it’s just as good for experienced campers looking for a great deal. For the size of tent and the quality of materials it was superb value at around £740 – and now you can pick it up for half that on the Regatta website it’s almost too good to be true. The vis a vis layout, with bedrooms at opposite ends of a good-sized central living area, works especially well for families with older children, or for, say, two sets of couples who’d prefer not to sleep alongside each other in a typical tunnel tent. That all important 5,000mm hydrostatic head waterproof rating also means you will be well protected from the elements.
WHAT’S GOOD?
The vis a vis layout provides more privacy – and one of the bedrooms can be removed to create a bigger living space. It’s good value for money and plenty of opportunities to accessorise with canopies, footprints and carpets.
WHAT COULD BE IMPROVED?
The layout isn’t for everyone and it does limit the living space somewhat.
