A grand tent… for a grand. Or less. That’s the cost of inflation. And we think it’s a bargain for such a big brand.
WHO’S IT FOR?
Families of up to six who want to keep the kids close by as well as having generous living and storage room zones in an inflatable package will appreciate this.
WHAT’S IT LIKE?
A grand inflatable tent? That’s the price, but this new model from Outwell has more than enough going for it to justify the tag. In truth, this is at the more budget end of the inflatable family tent market – certainly if your aim is a brand like Outwell. This three-roomed tunnel tent is certainly spacious – accommodation is for up to six (it meets regulations for this many, but Outwell also points out its own Sleep Comfort rating of five) – with side-by-side bedrooms at the back, a generous central living area and a front zone best suited to storage.Tubes inflate separately (ie it’s not single-point). That saves on interconnecting tubes and extra valves etc – which, in turn, helps keep bulk and complexity down. Even so, inflatables can be bulkier than their traditional poled brethren (with the latter, you can separate the poles from the fabric for transportation). As ever, shop around for the best deal (bearing in mind desirable options like carpet and footprint), based also on aftersales service. And don’t forget, Outwell also has its own online store now.
There are still plenty of Outwell signature features. The windows are tinted, there’s a rear ventilation system, luminous guylines etc. We should add, it looks good, too.
