WHAT’S IT LIKE?
The Watergate 8 is a good, basic family tent providing comfortable accommodation for between six and eight people that is very easy to pitch and comes with a quality build. It’s a vis a vis design – meaning the bedrooms face each other across a central living area. This is a good option for families with older children looking for some privacy. The good-sized living room sits in between the two bedrooms and provides plenty of space for dining furniture and some storage. It also has large doors and windows on both sides, providing plenty of light and ventilation and there’s good headroom in the central space.

One of the large side doors has a protective rain canopy to keep you dry getting in and out during bad weather and both doors have a mesh backing to keep bugs out. The living area has storage pockets for small items at each end and there are cable entry ports on both sides. Unlike some vis a vis tents which taper away at both ends, the Watergate retains most of its head height, providing more usable space in the bedrooms. Ventilation panels on the rear combined with mesh on the bedroom doors provide good airflow on hot summer nights. The flysheet is good quality polyester with a 5,000mm hydrostatic head rating for keeping rain out and it is treated to protect against UV damage.
