A nice little tent for short getaways for couples or young families. The blackout bedrooms are great and the porch provides a good space for sitting out.

PRICE £130

KEY FEATURES

  • Blackout bedrooms
  • Dome design
  • Rooftop ventilation
  • Colour-coded poles
  • Front porch

WHO'S IT FOR?
For solo campers, couples and festivals. Would also make a good ‘pup’ tent for teenagers

WHAT’S IT LIKE?
With cars getting smaller, fitting all your camping gear into the boot can sometimes be a struggle. So a tent with a small pack size like this is ideal, especially for short breaks. The Kobuk Valley 3 Plus is an extended dome tent that is easy to pitch and its ‘Gothic arch’ shape maximises headroom. The large front porch has PVC windows on both sides and is a great area for sitting, eating meals or storing gear. The spacious sleeping area has Coleman’s innovative BlackOut material that stops light getting in during bright summer evenings and early mornings – ideal for kids. Mesh ventilation panels ensure good airflow throughout and the BlackOut bedrooms keep summer temperatures down too. The flysheet flysheet that features an pretty decent 4,500mm hydrostatic head rating for keeping the elements out.

WHAT’S GOOD?
Blackout bedrooms remain brilliant and the front porch is a very good usable space. Very easy to pitch.

WHAT COULD BE IMPROVED?
A sewn-in groundsheet would be a welcome addition
