WHO’S IT FOR?
For large families who like a bit of glamour on their holidays or groups of festival-goers.

WHAT’S IT LIKE?

The Emperor Luna has a sense of dramatic grandeur reminiscent of Brighton’s Royal Pavilion and certainly puts the “glam” into glamping. At 6m by 4m, it’s the biggest and most luxurious tent in the Boutique Camping range and it’s not hard to see it on a festival campsite, decked out with bunting and throws.

The unique design is a hybrid of the company’s Luna and Emperor tents and is the result of asking campers what sort of tent they would like. Campers said they not only wanted a tent that was more spacious than traditional bell tents, but also had the convenience of being able to be set up quickly. It delivers on both counts. For a tent of this size, pitching really is quite straightforward. First of all, peg out the heavy-duty groundsheet, then add the framework of aluminium “ribs” that go round the outside, before pushing the two central poles upright.

Once it’s standing, you’ll get a real feel for the amount of space in this tent. In theory, up to 10 people could sleep in here quite comfortably, but for a group of six there is loads of space for beds and furniture. The high walls and impressive headroom give the tent a really spacious feel and the four large round, windows make it bright and airy. Both the windows and door are protected with mesh, to keep bugs out while allowing air to flow through. The windows can be obscured with zippable canvas covers, for privacy or when the weather takes a turn for the worse. The polycotton fabric is strong and lightweight, and treated to be mould, mildew and rot resistant.

The tent comes with a mallet, sturdy pegs, no-slip guy rope sliders, reflective guy lines and a good-sized carry bag with a waterproof base.

WHAT’S GOOD?
Plenty of space inside as well as being bright and airy; easy to pitch; unique look
