Woodovis Park is ‘greenest’ campsite in UK

The Green Tourism Goldstar Awards has named Woodovis Park in Devon as its top British holiday park and camp site for 2013.
More than 2400 contenders were considered for the 15 awards, covering all aspects of the tourism industry from hotels and restaurants to conference venues and activity providers.John Lewis of Woodovis Park, accepting the award from environmental activist Satish Kumar, said: “We are bowled over to be named the greenest holiday park in the UK. Preserving our beautiful surroundings remains a priority and we’re always looking for ways to improve our eco credentials.”
The Green Tourism Goldstar Awards, now in their third year, recognise businesses that promote sustainability within the tourism industry through initiatives to help the environment, improve customer services, and reduce costs.
Highly commended in the holiday park and camping site category was Kelling Heath in Norfolk, a Premier Park.
