Weekend flood warnings for Manchester and the North West
There is continued risk of surface water and river flooding this afternoon and tomorrow (Saturday) across Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, North Derbyshire and the Yorkshire Pennines. Further heavy rain is expected across many regions during Friday and into Saturday morning - where the Met Office have warned we could see one month's rainfall in just 24 hours.
The Environment Agency is urging the public to remain vigilant and prepared for flooding, especially holidaymakers visiting touring parks across the North West. Campers should be prepared to take action should flooding occur and should check the Environment Agency website and Twitter feed for the latest updates and warnings.
