Thrifty campers sought for TV show

ARE you a thrifty camper? Do you know someone who is?

If so, TV director Claire Braden would like to hear from you as she is on the search for Britain’s “tightest person”.

Claire explained: “I’m on the hunt for the tightest, most money-saving person in Britain for a prime-time Channel 4 documentary. I want to find someone who is proud to be thrifty.

“I’m celebrating tightness as a good way to be, in this credit crunch. I want to meet people who have spent a lifetime being careful with their money and can pass on their money-saving tips.”

The programme, due to be shown on Channel Four in the new year, will follow Claire as she travels around the UK picking up penny-pinching tips as she goes – learning to live more cheaply and hoping to share a teabag with anyone willing to do so.

She said: “I want to find out what makes people tight with their money and how to be more careful with mine. I am after meeting some super-frugal Brits who can give me some brilliant money-saving tips.”
