The Highland Games 2013 are about to begin

After the last few years of dismal British weather, no-one could be blamed for heading south to the sunnier climes of Europe. But this year is looking up on the weather front, so if you're planning on heading away for a short break, why not head north of the border?
The 2013 Highland Games are set to kick off in Gourock, Inverclyde on Sunday, 12 May.
The games will feature some of the most traditional, iconic sporting events the British isles have to offer, including the tossing the caber and putting the Kempock stone, as well as less intense events such as Highland dancing.
