Stunning futuristic camping pod concept revealed
Designer Fabian Mazzola was asked to create a living space inspired by the MINI Countryman F60. He came up with a concept for a futuristic home-from-home that is luxurious, comfortable and functional.
The result was a stunning, minimalistic camping pod, featuring a fully-functional living space, a kitchen, bedroom and bathroom.
He said: "I wanted it to be luxurious, comfortable but at the same time functional. I wanted it to endure any type of weather and be taken anywhere anyone intended to go. I purposely, placed the pods in the most astounding scenery that it would make anyone want to pack up and visit."
"I have to say that the most challenging part about designing the MINI pod was the curves in the front and how the heck I would make it look like the MINI. The bathroom was also a challenge because of the elements inside of it; the curves, the finishes, the dimensions. In the end I pulled it off."
Fabian got involved after his company Bitlens Studios was contacted by Shanghai-based advertising company Anomaly. It's a self-initiated project not commissioned by MINI, who currently have no intentions of manufacturing it, although the design reflects MINI’s philosophy and uses the car’s compact, round shape.
The pod is self-sustainable and clad in weather-sealed material, meaning it can withstand all sorts of climates.
