Spiers House reopens after major refurbishment
Campers can now enjoy new toilet and shower facilities that boast rainwater harvesting for toilet flushing and solar panels as the primary source of water heating.
The 200-pitch Spiers House is an open, grassy site surrounded by woodland and offers facilities for the disabled, a launderette, shop and children’s play area – dogs are welcome.
It offers a variety of waymarked walking and cycling trails through Cropton Forest and is the perfect base for exploring the North York Moors National Park.
Pony-trekking, forest drives, an orienteering course and a badger hide are all nearby and the scenic 18-mile steam train journey from nearby Pickering provides an exciting way of seeing the countryside.
