Snowdrops in bloom in the heart of Exmoor

da17e589-1e4e-4fd7-8680-656d3a9bf1ac
Snowdrop Valley, a beautiful river valley smothered in snowdrops, is open to the public during February.

The Valley is located at Wheddon Cross in the heart of Exmoor and is open to visitors from the 4th - 26th February 2012. An amazing sight to behold, Snowdrop Valley is a secluded valley where snowdrops carpet the forest floor from late January and throughout February.

You cannot drive into the valley but a dedicated bus service runs from Wheddon Cross where you can park your car or small motorhome to catch the bus or walk to the Valley. The walk through the Valley and woods runs parallel to the River Avill in a circular route and passes the site of a sawmill once powered by the river.

For refreshments there is the Snowdrop Valley Cafe in the village hall or the Rest and Be Thankul Inn which serves a full lunch menu as well as morning coffees and afternoon teas.

For somewhere to stay whilst touring the area there's Waterrow Touring Park. Catering for adults only the MMM Premier Park is open all year. It is situated in Waterrow village and has landscaped pitches with views of the surrounding countryside. Direct from the site are woodland walks down to the River Tone and the village inn is located just minutes from the site entrance.
