Management changes at Go Outdoors

Camping and outdor retailer Go Outdoors has appointed a new chief executive as it revealed its turnover has gone through the £200 million barrier for the first time.

Chris Matthews will join Go Outdoors in May from Dixons Retail where he is currently the managing director of Greece’s leading electrical retailer Kotsovolos.

Over a 10-year career with Dixons Chris has held a broad range of leadership positions across general management, commercial, e-commerce and marketing roles. Before his 10-year stint at Dixons, he held senior roles with Marks and Spencer.
 
GO Outdoors, which will open its 42nd store in March, has just reached a £203 million annual turnover for the first time in its history, following on from recent annual figures which showed an increase in turnover of over 19%.

The same financial period saw the number employees double from under 700 to over 1400.
