Holiday park can bring help in a heartbeat
Park Cliffe holiday park in the Lake District is now home to life-saving medical equipment.
The Windermere-based park has installed a state-of-the-art defibrillator which could greatly increase the chances of survival for a person suffering cardiac arrest.
Available to holiday guests and the local community, the fully automated unit can be used even by those with no medical experience.
Park Cliffe owners, Susan and Derek Dickson, say the defibrillator could make a crucial difference, especially in summer when travelling times are lengthened by busy traffic.
The unit was installed in conjunction with the Community Heartbeat Trust, the UK’s largest defibrillator charity.
Susan said they've already received “fantastic local feedback”, including from those who know someone who is vulnerable due to their medical history.
