Going back to nature

The French Ardennes is promoting its green credentials in its new 2008 visitor guide. This is one of the least-explored corners of France and its rustic character lends itself perfectly to camping holidays exploring a landscape shaped in equal measure by nature and history.
Key developments include the Voie Verte (Green path) – an 83-kilometre track that follows the River Meuse. You can walk, cycle, horse-ride and even rollerblade its entire length from Givet in the north and the region’s capital Charleville-Mézières.
