Fashion company turns maps into clothes
Are you lost when it comes to fashion? A new company that lets you create unique t-shirts based on topographical map data could point you in the right direction.
MapOnShirt takes geospatial maps and “re-imagines” them as colourful, wearable art. Designs can be personalised to feature locations across the globe, from your favourite landscapes to your local neighbourhood.
Martins Lismanis, head of production, said, “Life is too short to wear a boring wardrobe. With MapOnShirt, the fashion savvy can rock apparel that’s just as unique as the places they’ve lived, travelled or dreamt of.”
MapOnShirt uses OpenStreetMap (OSM) data for its creations and the wearer can make the map truly personal with the option to add text, map markers and logos.
As well as t-shirts, MapOnShirt also creates custom pillows and headwear in a variety of colours and sizes. Every item is custom made which gives the apparel an exclusive edge.
The soft poly fabric is also moisture wicking so can be worn while you’re out on the trail.
