Exclusive: Celebrities Go Camping On New TV Show
Five stars from the world of TV, comedy and pop music have ditched their showbiz lifestyles to go camping on the Jurassic Coast.
And you'll be able to follow the famous five's adventures in a five-part series being shown on Channel Five early in the New Year.
Yes, after caravans and motorhomes got the reality TV treatment, the spotlight is being turned on tent camping, with Celebrity 5 Go Camping
This time the series features former Eastenders stars Michelle Collins and Joe Swash who are joined on the camping trip by comics Bobby Davro and Stephen Bailey and Cheryl Baker from 80s chart-toppers Bucks Fizz.
The show follows the celebs' attempts to get up close and personal with the great outdoors. None of them have been camping for years and one of the group has a crippling fear of spiders - not ideal for a back to nature trip.
Over the five episodes, they explore a variety of styles of campsites, from basic fields with compost loos to luxury glamping. They also pitch various tents from conventional pole tents to inflatable and pop-up - and even shelters made out of cardboard!
During the trip they cook and eat traditional camping fare, ranging from dehydrated meals to grub they've foraged and recently slaughtered meat.
So will they take to a life under canvas or make a run for the nearest B&B? You'll be able to find out when the show starts its run early in 2019. The expected transmission date for the first episode is 4 January.
