Dog friendly camping in Lancashire

602518fa-7300-455b-9d21-ae42e347b004

It seems more and more families are taking their pets with them on holiday rather than putting them into kennels.

And Lancashire’s Holgates Bay View site reckons its location – on the edges of two national parks, with almost infinite walks, beaches, woodlands, high fells and open countryside – makes it particularly pooch-friendly.

Back at base, there’s the site’s own 1,000-seater bar and restaurant, with a focus on local produce – from breakfast to dinner. As well as tent pitches (including electrics, if requested) there are camping pods for hire. The site is open all year round.

Holgates is also the owner of Hollins Farm (at Far Arnside, and the AA’s Most Improved Campsite 2013) and Silverdale Holiday Park – both of which accept tents.

Holgates Bay View is at A6 Main Road, Bolton-le-Sands, Carnforth, Lancashire LA5 8ES, tel 01524 701508, www.holgates.co.uk
