Campsites cut pitch prices by up to a third

Dozens of campsites are offering discounts of up to a third off pitch fees in a bid to attract more campers this summer.Camping in the Forest is is offering a 33% discount on its standard grass pitch prices at 19 sites while the Camping and Caravanning Club is slashing prices by 30% on 35 sites.
Each of the Camping in the Forest Sites is located on idyllic Forestry Commission land and more information can be found on their website
The promotion is available to all campers and will run until Saturday, September 1.
Meanwhile, as part of the Camping and Caravanning Club’s new "Don’t Mention The Weather" campaign, campers are being offered 30% off grass pitch bookings for a limited time only.
There are 35 Club sites are participating in the promotion, which is open to members and non-members.
Don't Mention The Weather is a light-hearted campaign to persuade holidaymakers not to mention the indifferent weather this summer.
This year has seen the wettest April, the wettest June and the wettest April-to-June period on record, with the trend continuing into early July, with England and Wales both experiencing above average rainfall.
However, with some welcome sunshine recently, the Club is remaining upbeat and is urging people to not mention the weather and still get out and about and enjoy the great British countryside in all its glory.
And it seems many agree as evidence collated by the Club reveals that 87% of people feel we should ignore the weather and just get on with enjoying ourselves.
A full list of campsites offering the discounted bookings can be found at www.dontmentiontheweather.co.uk.
