Camping 'is less stressful than foreign holidays'

Camping trips in the UK are less stressful than holidays abroad, a study suggested.

Researchers found families who stay at home rather than jetting off to sunny foreign climes are more likely to arrive relaxed and ready to enjoy their holiday.

UK tourists also find it easier to unwind without the worries of passports and visas, the language barrier and bugs and insects.

The study found almost half of families who have been on both types of break believe a foreign trip is stressful, with just 20% saying the same about a camping trip.

The study was by insect repellent brand Jungle Formula.
