Pop icon Brian Wilson has been announced as the Sunday night headliner at family-friendly festival Camp Bestival.

The Beach Boys frontman will be performing the legendary album Pet Sounds in full as part of its 50th anniversary tour as well as some of the band’s greatest hits.

Pet Sounds is considered to be one of the best albums of all time, and features classics like Wouldn’t It Be Nice, God Only Knows and Sloop John B. He will take the stage at sunset as part of the Sunday night finale that will also include Leftfield, who will bring the night to a close before a huge fireworks display.

The 2017 festival will take place at Lulworth Castle in Dorset between 27-30 July. DJ/producer Mark Ronson will headline the Friday night, while 80s chart-toppers Madness top the bill on Saturday.

Other big names already announced include All Saints, Holly Johnson and Kate Nash and there will be live performance from School of Rock – The Musical, Mr Tumble and Dick & Dom.

Festival organiser Rob da Bank said: “There’s been so much talk of musical icons recently and I’m very proud that we’ll be presenting one of the most legendary figures in song-writing, music production and, maybe, the ultimate anti-pop star, Brian Wilson.

“Whether you’re a stalwart Wilson supporter or maybe it’s the first time you’ve heard his name, I hope you’ll be there in the moment for the Sunday headliner in his full majesty.”
