Stressed out Brits are seeking solace in nature says UK holiday operator, Canvas Holidays.

In a survey of more than 850 people to find out more about holidaymakers’ habits and what is currently influencing their travel choices, more than a quarter stated proximity to nature is strongest influencing factor when choosing a holiday to achieve a greater sense of well being.

A further 25 per cent stated closeness to a lake or coastline is strongest factor, building on the resurgence in popularity of camping and the outdoor holiday.

Nearly a third of those surveyed confessed it takes three to four days before they start to relax. France was the top getaway destination for 55 per cent and the survey found holidaymakers are taking more short breaks, with 33 per cent taking 3-plus short breaks a year and another 28 per cent.
