DENMARK offers not only stunning campsites and beautiful beaches but also plenty of attractions to keep every member of the family entertained including the original Legoland Park, amusement parks, interactive museums, Viking sites and historic castles.

Denmark consists of the Jutland Peninsula, the two main islands of Funen and Zealand and hundreds of smaller islands. The result is 7,300km of stunning coastline, with wonderful white sandy beaches, many of them awarded the Blue Flag.

So, what can you expect? Danish cities and regions and what they offer include, website links will open in new window/tab:

Aalborg caravan holiday imageAalborg
A charming, feel good city, Aalborg’s major attractions are close together so you can cram much more into your day. On the one hand, it’s dynamic and up to date and, on the other, its fascinating history from the Vikings to the Middle Ages is evident. Expect narrow, winding streets, wonky old houses and interesting galleries plus cafés, restaurants and shops. It’s surrounded by beautiful countryside, too.

Aarhus caravan and motorhome holiday imageAarhus
Denmark’s second largest city, beautifully located by the sea and forest, is known for its museums and range of interesting buildings and churches. In ‘The Old Town’ you can experience the city as it would have been in the middle 900s, when comb makers, travelling smiths and traders from afar would gather to set up their stalls. Here you will find exquisite Franconian glasses, gorgeous silk fabrics, and exotic spices. You can also go for a picnic in one of the city’s many beautiful parks or go swimming in the clean water at the white sandy beaches.

Copenhagen
Denmark’s capital city, Copenhagen has something for everyone. Though smaller than many other capital cities, it offers great variety. It’s the perfect destination for a shopping trip and you’ll be able to find everything from quirky boutiques to major high street names and food lovers are well catered for, too. If you’d like to experience something more cultural, the city’s wonderful mixture of old and new architecture would suit you and there’s also some fantastic art to view.

Jutland in Denmark beach scene imageNorthern Jutland
If it’s a few extra hours of sunshine compared to the rest of the country that you want, then head for the Northern Jutland region. Famous for its rich scenery the region also has the wild and foaming North Sea with its mile-long sandy beaches and vast dune landscapes; the milder and far more tranquil Kattegat to the east, and the wonderful, glittering Limfjord to the south with its wealth of idyllic coves and large and small islands, sheer cliffs and green forests. Simply beautiful.
