Forestside Farm Camping

3acee6f4-2f3a-4481-970a-6e06a5ff1f42
Let’s look at a completely rural site where you can simply pitch and get away from all the festivities of New Year to enjoy a relaxed and rural camp to see in 2012 however you see fit – either in your tent with a bottle or two or celebrating in one of the numerous near-by pubs.

You’ll find the very popular Forestside Farm Camping and Caravanning site amid 156 acres of rolling Staffordshire countryside on an organic dairy farm. The area around includes the wonderful Dovedale and the Weaver Hills and laid-back camping is the order of the day here.

From the moment you leave the quiet country access lane and drive down the farm track to check in at the farmhouse, you know you are in for something a bit special. For a totally rural New Year break that will leave you feeling relaxed and ready for the year to come, you couldn’t choose a better location. Reviews for this site are always good and people return here again and again.

There are plenty of walking opportunities all around and the owners are both friendly and a mine of information on the local area. The site is bush-lined and sheltered to three sides with expansive views to the countryside beyond from one end of it.

There are two fields – the first is for caravans (the site takes five and they have electric hook-ups) and through a gate and fence below this you will find the grass meadow area that is the camping field. The site takes 12 tents and there are limited electric hook-ups on the camping field. The owners keep the numbers low to enhance the rural experience and the site prides itself on having a relaxed and laid back atmosphere with no noise.

Forestside Farm also now has two camping Pods which sleep upto five people. Each Pod has lighting, heating and a carpeted floor. For your stay, simply bring everything you need for a camping trip, minus the tent.

Dogs are allowed but need to be strictly controlled as this is a working farm.

The site also has a small fishing pond if you fancy taking along your gear and permits are available at the farm.

The toilet facilities are located on the caravan field just as you enter and they are housed in a modern building and are very clean and tidy. The showers are free and the amenities block also has a washing up area with a fridge, kettle and microwave. As long as you bring along enough food (to save having to leave the site) you should have everything you need to enjoy a New Year break in absolute peace and quiet on Forestside Farm site and come away very refreshed for the experience to boot.
