New motorhome range for the UK

British motorhome buyers are to get another manufacturer's models to choose from after Marquis Motorhomes, the UK’s largest dealer group with 11 sales outlets, confirmed it will be importing Benimar motorhomes from Spain
The dealer group said it is expecting to show at least three Benimar models at the October NEC show in Birmingham and already has one right-hand drive model – a Mileo 201 – at its Southampton branch.You can read a full road test of that model exclusively in October’s Which Motorhome magazine. Benimar motorhomes were popular here in the late 1990s and early 2000s when imported by Nottingham-based RDH.
The company from Peñiscola on the Mediterranean coast became part of the huge Trigano empire – which also includes successful marques such as Auto-Trail, Chausson, Roller Team and Tribute – back in 2002.
Initial imports will all be from the mid-range Mileo low-profile line-up.
These will include the Mileo 201 (5.99m, rear transverse bed over garage), 202 (5.99m, drop-down bed over forward lounge, large rear L-shaped kitchen), 231 (5.99m, French bed), 243 (6.99m, rear height-adjustable bed over large garage), 294 (shown in the photos here – 7.39m, island bed, entirely separate shower and toilet).
All are based on Fiat Ducato with wide-track rear axle. Unlike most continental imports, they are also expected to have the habitation door on the UK side, although this has yet to be confirmed for all versions.
