Editor's Pick - Holiday Home: Willerby Clearwater

c184d9a2-afdc-4f63-99d4-58a0931e08cd

Willerby describes the Clearwater as an entry-level lodge. That implies value. It could also imply a lack of luxury compared with models higher up the lodge luxury echelon. Yet the Clearwater exhibits not a shred of that implication. This is lodge luxury, with space aplenty and furnishings that are well into the luxury class.

The Clearwater is available in three versions, all 20ft wide. There are two 40ft-long models, one with two bedrooms and one with three, and a 36ft-long model with two bedrooms.

It adheres to the open-plan concept but with a difference. All three elements of the living space have their own identity and there is plenty of space between each, as we discovered when we spent time in this lodge at Willerby’s new showground near to Southport.

The kitchen is square, with units around all of the sides, and an opening that is almost a suggestion of a door space as the entrance. And there’s a unique feature: a bench-style seat borders the edge of the kitchen. Perch here for coffee perhaps, or use it as an auxiliary seat if you are entertaining.

The lounge is enormous, with two sumptuous sofas, with backrest and armrest bolster cushions that make them super comfortable.

Dining area furniture is a four-seater suite plus a full-height dresser. There’s a huge amount of floor space in this sector of the living area.

Everything about the Clearwater is spacious, including the entrance, where practicalities are taken care of by a seat and a tall cabinet by the door, plenty large enough for everyone’s footwear as well as coats.
