Motorhome dealer, Travelworld, to build new showroom and launch rental service

Travelworld, the Telford-based Erwin Hymer Group dealer, is to move to a new purpose-built showroom and service centre just off Junction 14 on the M6 near Stafford

The new showroom, which is being built on a five-acre brownfield site in Cresswell Park, Stafford North, is expected to be open in September 2018. Work is expected to start on January 2, 2018.

One of the advantages of the new premises is the ease of access for larger motorhomes, as it is just off the M6 motorway.

The glass-fronted motorhome showroom will also have a 25-bay workshop capable of accommodating the liners and large A-class motorhomes that Travelworld has become famous for retailing made by brands such as Niesmann and Bischoff and Hymer.

Travelworld has also recently been appointed a full Fiat authorised centre, which means it can carry out warranty work and servicing on all Fiat-based motorhomes, regardless of brand.

The dealer has already started a major recruitment drive.

Travelworld is also set to launch a high-end motorhome rental service.

The dealer will initially launch the service in March 2018 with 10 motorhomes from Carado, Hymer and HymerCar.

Setting it apart from other motorhome rental companies will be the fact that it will offer A-class models as well as campervans and coachbuilts. In addition some of its Hymer rental models will be based on Mercedes-Benz.

Among the models it will offer will be a Hymer ML-I 540 and an Exsis I, both of which are high-end Hymer A-class models.

The service will be operated through the RentEasy, which is the Europe-wide rental service from the Erwin Hymer Group. This means customers throughout Europe will be able to reserve the motorhome rental through the RentEasy website before they travel to the UK.

The rental branch will be known as RentEasy Birmingham and Travelworld expects some 20% of its rental business to come from foreign visitors wanting to tour the UK in a motorhome, while the rest will be British renters wanting to try motorhoming.
