travellingman
Hi and Good evening to all, As this forum appears to be better than wilipedia for knowledge can someone answer this query I have been given a map reference of 178/815887 and I am trying to understand it but no joy. Normally its two letters then 6 numbers which I can follow, but this ???? Either things are changing or I'm getting old Thanks in advance of any answers
Keithl
Hi Chris, I assume you realised this was an OS Grid Ref, if not then that is what it was, Ordnance Survey Sheet 187 Grid Ref 815887. I Googled 'Convert Grid Ref to Lat Long' and came up with this Website which gave me a Lat Long of 51.567958 0.617425 When copied and pasted into Google maps it takes you Here. I hope this is where you where expecting to end up :-D Keith.
