I know many of you have had a problem with the filter housing leaking Fiat are aware of this but have chosen not to recall I found a Vosa address and got this reply

I would ask if you can providing me with following information:

1. Is your vehicle still fitted with the original fuel filter that is was

supplied new with?

2. Has the fuel filter element ever been changed?

3. If so, by whom?

4. Is your vehicle still in the failed state?

5. If so, please do nothing to it until you have spoken with me, as we need

vehicles in theirs failed condition.

6. Do you happen to have taken images or video the fuel leak?

7. Can you supply me copies of the service information on the vehicle.

8. Do you use your motorhome all year or do you winterise it?

9. If you don't use it during the winter, how do you winterise it?

If you wish to discuss anything, then please do not hesitate to contact me.

This same filter housing, with the same issues is also fitted on some of the later previous models, I know because I've got one, a 2005 X240 and it proved a real problem.

Perhaps VOSA should do a Google search if they need proof that the problem should be addressed, as for leaving the vehicle in a "failed state" that seems completely impractical, I have however emailed the gentleman given in the link.
