Shower Tray Repair

Our shower tray was a complete mess with a large crack. I looked into a replacement and could not find one I also thought about repairing it myself then decided the tray would not come out without more damage and taking a large part of the van to bits. So I contacted Speedcoat and they gave me the contact details of a local agent in the North East www.thecaravanmedicdurham.co.uk The van was booked in and a price agreed (not cheap).

The service was great and Steve the caravan medic even ran the wife and I into Durham for an appointment. I have put some links to pictures of the job to show anyone contemplating having a tray repaired how much work was involved in repairing the tray and the end result.

The shower tray in our Hymer B584 had cracking round both drain holes which would obviously have given us a very wet underfloor locker had we used the shower. However, Steve at Essanjay referred us to Brian at 'Scuffs and Scrapes' at Tarrant Tinton, Dorset who has done a brilliant repair job for us. The cracked areas were cut out and repaired and then the whole tray was re-surfaced. The cost was £350 including VAT, a great deal cheaper than a new tray. Scuffs and Scrapes can be contacted on scuffsandscrapes@gmail.com or 01258 830350.

JONMAR

What type of tray is yours, please? Ours has a crack in, but is not just a shower tray, but the whole floor of the compartment, with the toilet standing on /in (not sure), so much bigger. Will have to take some pics, and maybe contact Scruffs & S, as not to far from us in Hampshire. OH has made a temporary repair and it is only a small crack, but having had a new floor , due to water ingress, don't want to make it wet again, so am very interested in your post, thanks

PJay
